This piece is more than an image. It is a visual representation of the framework behind BAMCO and the belief that lasting change begins within.
At the very top is stillness. I always say, “SILENT & LISTEN” same letters, only scrambled because it is in the silence that you find the answers to that which you seek.
Before you can ever take any real action, you must develop the ability to become quiet enough to listen. To pray. To align. To discern between impulse, fear, conditioning, wisdom, and truth. The crown and cross represent a kind of leadership that begins by recognizing that we do not have every answer ourselves. Sometimes the most important move is not moving at all until we understand what we are being called to do.
The crown of thorns separates that spiritual foundation from the process of learning and transformation below it. It represents pain, sacrifice, suffering, and the reality that wisdom is often developed through what we have survived.
From there begins the nine-part BAMCO framework:
Knowledge → Understanding → Perspective → Awareness → Choice → Practice → Character → Identity → Purpose.
Knowledge alone is not transformation. We can know something and continue living exactly the same way. Knowledge has to become understanding. Understanding changes perspective. Perspective creates awareness. Awareness gives us the opportunity to make a different choice. But one different choice is only the beginning. Choices practiced repeatedly become habits. Practice develops character. Character shapes identity. And when we begin living from a changed identity instead of constantly fighting old behavior, we become capable of living with purpose.
That is why CHOICE sits at the center of the design.
There is a past behind every person that they cannot change, and a future in front of them that has not been written yet. Awareness brings us to the intersection between the two. Choice determines which direction we begin walking.
The roots beneath PURPOSE represent what happens when transformation becomes deeper than appearance. We become rooted in something substantial enough to survive pressure. From those roots can grow service, compassion, fatherhood, mentorship, creation, protection, provision, leadership, peacemaking, and the responsibility to leave something meaningful behind.
At the foundation sits BAMCO — Building A Mansion of Compassion.
The mansion is not a building. It is what we build through our lives. Every person we help, every cycle we break, every lesson we pass forward, every child we guide differently, every person we refuse to condemn, and every life made better because we were here becomes another brick.
