Behind The Design
I chose the BAMCO logo and its rough, rigid lettering because it felt honest. It looked like something that had been through pressure, carried some scars, and was still standing. It fit the story behind BAMCO because this was never meant to represent perfection. It represents what can be built from everything that was supposed to break us.
“Built Different” wasn’t born from comfort. It was built through fire.
It was built through years of growing up without the right guidance, support, structure, or systems in place, alongside a lot of pain, trauma, conditioning, rejection, abandonment, being shunned, and being misunderstood. Years of surviving without understanding why I thought the way I thought, reacted the way I reacted, or kept repeating the same patterns.
For a long time, I had no real awareness of who I was outside of what I had experienced, what I had done, or what other people had labeled me. As I grew, all of that combined brought confusion, deeper identity issues, shame, and a much harder time trying to understand God.
BAMCO was built through the process of making changes with a renewed heart, mind, and identity. The rough edges, distressed lettering, and imperfect appearance aren’t just a style. They represent pressure and refinement—the reality that something can be worn, weathered, scarred, and still become something entirely different.
And that story is much bigger than mine.
People everywhere carry pain, trauma, conditioning, rejection, abandonment, shame, failure, confusion, and labels they never chose. Some grew up without guidance. Some never had healthy systems around them. Some have spent years believing that what happened to them—or what they did while trying to survive it—is who they are.
The BAMCO mission is a reminder that you are more than your past. More than your pain. More than your trauma, conditioning, failures, circumstances, or labels. Your history matters, but it does not have to become your final identity.
That is what Built Different represents: not pretending the past never happened, but choosing what you build from it.
